Tastes Like Breakfast

I've updated one of my recipes, and I wanted to share with you. Last year I made "Tastes Like Breakfast Bars" and I've just updated them a little bit. When I first came up with the recipe I only used 12 dates, and the bars were quite thin, although still very yummy! I decided this time to add a few more dates, and I'd got some cricket protein powder at the health food store a while ago, so I finally got around to trying it out. It does not alter the taste of the bars in the least, but adds a bit more protein to it, and I think these would be really good for a backpacking trip, though probably not in the heat of the summer, they're a bit gooey!  I did take one with me to the movie this afternoon, and it hit the spot. This is great for those of us who can find nothing to eat at the concession stand. Just wrap in parchment or waxed paper, and off you go!
