So, what’s new and good?

My September newsletter just hit inboxes, with a couple of announcements. If you’re not a subscriber, sign up here (scroll to newsletter) so you don’t miss anything. Subscribers are often the first to receive recipes, and they get them all to themselves for a few weeks before I post them on my website for everyone else to enjoy. It’s nice to receive something special in the mail every now and again.

I have been so busy the past few weeks, some of it work, some of it pleasure. I’ve finished up the AIP certification course, I just need to write the exam. It’s potentially 2 hours long, so I want to make sure I can sit and do it with no interruption or distraction. Difficult to do when I’m working a day job Monday to Friday! I shall get it done this week, I have promised myself! Honestly, right now I’m procrastinating by sending out my newsletter and this blog post, because they’re both due (I have myself on a sort of schedule!), and if I don’t get them done, I’ll be too distracted and the apocalyptic lizard brain will wake up and start nattering at me to do them, right in the middle of the exam. I know that lizard too well! So, I hope to be able to sit down and do it tomorrow after work. There. I said it, so now I’ll have to do it.

Like telling y’all that I was going to go solo backpacking, and do the CN Tower EdgeWalk.  Well, if I say it out loud and in public, so to speak, then I have to do it, or everybody thinks I’m a big fat liar! Well, I’m not a liar. Nor am I big and fat (though I have gone a bit flabby around the edges in the past few weeks of doing this course! No time for push-ups!)

I wonder now what my next adventure will have to be, to top the EdgeWalk. Not much *can* top that really. It’s in the Guinness Book of World Records for the world’s highest hands-free urban adventure. 1168 ft/356 meters above Toronto. Maybe Everest? Hmmm…. *snarf* LOL

I still can’t believe that I did that. And that after not very long being up there, I felt really alive, and comfortable. Even knowing how far up we were, and that if the rigging failed…well, it didn’t, because I am here telling you the tale. And have the photos and video to prove it! I should upload the videos somewhere to share them…it’s really quite amazing, I think EVERYONE should do it! Why? “Because it’s there.” – George Mallory

I would never have been able to do this 10 years ago. Or even 5 years ago. 10 years ago, I had not yet been diagnosed with celiac disease. I was constantly struggling with pain, digestive issues, depression, anxiety, did I mention pain? Now since taking my life back from all of my autoimmune diseases, I feel I can live the life that I deserve. The life that all of us deserve! Nobody deserves to live with chronic disease. But we do. HOW we live with it is up to us. Before my diagnosis, I was sure I would die a slow and painful death, not knowing what it was that was killing me. Once I knew, I did something about it. It was entirely up to me. It took me a lot of years, but I did it, and I’m stronger for it. I’m healthier for it. And I am in a position that I can help others do it too, and save them a lot of time doing it! I believe that’s why I’m here. To help people heal themselves.

I wish I knew who to attribute this quote to. I searched and I cannot find where it originated. I love it though. It is so true.

What adventures do you wish you could live? I never dreamed I’d be able to do half the things that I do at this age. Now 50! I feel better now than I did at 30, which doesn’t seem like all that long ago somehow. And at the same time, it is a lifetime ago.

Don’t wait 20 years to get around to living your dreams and adventures. Start now. If your journey starts with getting healthy, then I would be honoured to help you along that path. I’ve been walking it a very long time, I can point out the pit-stops, and the things that may trip you up. I can suggest the different routes that would be optimal for your journey. Kind of like Google maps! Just click the “Contact” link above and we’ll set up your first one hour consult for free!

I’m having a grand year, this 50th of mine. I can’t wait to find out what’s next!
