Are you a cold turkey sort, or slow and steady like the tortoise?

Lucky for you though, you do have AIP, and AIP certified coaches, and programs like the Autoimmune Healing Intensive available to you. Choose to rip off the bandaid quick, or pick at it for a while. It's up to you. (how's that for visualization? LOL!) That's the beauty of the Autoimmune Healing Intensive n=1 experiments. Do the ones that interest you, and leave the other ones. Or do them all. Friday was a bright sunshiny day, and we arrived at the campground just after 3, which left me just a little over an hour of daylight to get the tent up, start a fire and prepare for the rain the forecast was calling for over night. Is Caffeine Allowed on AIP?

I’ve had a few people message me to ask what I drink at breakfast time, and I’ve seen a lot lately on some AIP groups of people torturing themselves with caffeine withdrawal when they first start AIP, because they think its not allowed. But caffeine is fine, we just don’t drink coffee because it is a seed, and seeds are eliminated until re-introduction Stage 2. It’s nothing to do with the caffeine in it. Read More

Is AIP Forever?

There are phases to the AIP elimination diet. The initial phase, the “elimination” phase, is not forever. Is it difficult? Yes, indeed! How difficult it is will depend on your current diet and lifestyle habits. When I first started full on AIP, I had already been following a Primal lifestyle for a couple of years, and prior to that had been JERF, and prior to that, Atkins. How many balls can I juggle?

Amongst all of this flurry of activity, I still have a full-time day job, plus need to take time out for “me”, otherwise I get stressed out and get a flare up of something, which will then set me back, unable to do much of anything. Just as anyone with autoimmune disease can attest, stress and overwork really doesn’t do us any good at all. For each of us, our first priority should be self care, yes, even if you have kids!
