Giving up, giving in...

After 3 years of trying to be a business person, it has become quite evident that I am not!

I am unable to keep things going so I am packing it in as a health coach. I am just not cut out to be an independent business person. I do not have the wherewithal or energy to do it. Some people just are not cut out to be a business person. I am one of them. I've done everything right, I've hired the business coaches, I've hired the health coaches, and life coaches, I've taken all the courses, and sat in webinar after webinar. I've hosted my own webinars, 99% of them nobody ever came to. I've hosted live workshops, 90% of them, nobody came to. I've done the advertising, and the marketing, and all the stuff all the "experts" tell me I should be doing, and all it got me was further into debt, and no hope to get out of it. I honestly do not understand how it works for some people and for me, nuthin'.

So my focus now is going to be on getting a decent paying full time job (the full time job I have now does not pay well at all) and to get out from under this mountain of debt. Maybe live a little, travel a little, get to see the world a little.

To those of you who follow my blog on a regular basis, thank you. Once I cancel my subscription to my website provider, the recipes will disappear from the site, but I think the blog and everything will remain until my domain name expires. I'll be printing off all my recipes in the next couple of days so that I will have record of them. Who knows, maybe some day I will get around to putting them together in a book. Or not.

If you are looking for an AIP certified coach, check the directory http://aipcertified.com/coach-directory/

If you're looking for a generalized health coach, I'm not aware of a directory, but I'm sure you can find who you're looking for if you Google, or search Facebook, or Instagram. IIN used to have a directory, they no longer do. I guess it's too much to maintain, they have thousands of graduates each year, and not all of them go on to be health coaches.

These are a few of my favourite things...

What's your why? What makes you get out of bed in the morning? What would your life be like if getting out of bed was easier? What lengths would you go to to make that happen? I can help. It's what I love to do. Read More

Meditation, Yoga, and Self Care

Lately I've been getting really stressed out. Building a business as a health coach is tough! For one thing, hardly anyone has ever heard of a health coach, especially here in Canada, so nobody really goes searching for it. If they're not looking for it, they're not going to find me. Having a full time job still to pay the bills, and doing my "passion project", as Stacy Toth calls it, part-time after my day time gig, well, it's pretty exhausting! And I'm not gonna lie, it is costing me a whole crap tonne more money than I'm making. Which is frustrating, to say the least. BUT, I persevere!  Read More

11 Days In...

This weekend I will be presenting some family nutrition information, and joining in the Mind Body Souls Studios Open House on Saturday the 13th. Doors open at 6pm. I'll have some healthy healing snacks to sample, and some tips for how to stay fit and nourished in the new year. I will also be having a free draw for a bag full of goodies for one lucky person to take home with them. Read More

Is the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) Low Carb?

If you've decided to try low carb, or straight up paleo, or even as far as AIP, but if you go too low carb for too long, you may start to feel sluggish, and lacking in energy. You can add in some more higher carb "allowed" foods. Read More

Are you a cold turkey sort, or slow and steady like the tortoise?

Lucky for you though, you do have AIP, and AIP certified coaches, and programs like the Autoimmune Healing Intensive available to you. Choose to rip off the bandaid quick, or pick at it for a while. It's up to you. (how's that for visualization? LOL!) That's the beauty of the Autoimmune Healing Intensive n=1 experiments. Do the ones that interest you, and leave the other ones. Or do them all. It's up to you. Early bird pricing is still available. Give yourself the gift of health. There is no cure for autoimmune disease. But we have AIP, and that's the next best thing. Read More

Introducing, The Autoimmune Healing Intensive!

Before all of my autoimmune diseases were diagnosed, when I was always so sick, and never knew why, I even had doctors and friends and family suggest to me that it was all in my head, that I was just trying to get attention, or that I was just lazy...well when you have enough people tell you stuff like that, after a while you start to believe it yourself a little. But I KNEW I was sick. Really really sick. And I knew that I was not lazy. I WANTED to get up and do things, but I always in so much pain. I WANTED to go out and be adventurous, but I was always exhausted, just doing every day chores around my house. And sometimes I would get adventurous and go do something, and then I'd pay for it for days, or even weeks afterward. I remember after one hike in the mountains, I spent 3 days in bed, unable to move, I could barely go to the toilet! And then I had another couple of weeks in pain, everything hurt. Read More

Camping – AIP Style

Friday was a bright sunshiny day, and we arrived at the campground just after 3, which left me just a little over an hour of daylight to get the tent up, start a fire and prepare for the rain the forecast was calling for over night. The temperature wasn’t cold, it was above 0C/32F at any rate, and was only supposed to be about -3C/27F at night. Read More

Is Caffeine Allowed on AIP?

I’ve had a few people message me to ask what I drink at breakfast time, and I’ve seen a lot lately on some AIP groups of people torturing themselves with caffeine withdrawal when they first start AIP, because they think its not allowed. But caffeine is fine, we just don’t drink coffee because it is a seed, and seeds are eliminated until re-introduction Stage 2. It’s nothing to do with the caffeine in it. Read More
