Wow, it's June Already!

I've noticed something with my coaching clients, that no matter how bad they think things are going for them, as soon as they make the commitment to themselves to get healthy, they start immediately! As soon as they leave me from the initial health consultation, they start to feel better, and more in control. They don't know yet what is in store for them, other than I am here to support them through this 6 month (or 3 month) program. They don't know what I will be doing for or with them, they don't know if I'm going to tell them to live only off of air for 6 months. What they *do* know, is that they WANT to get healthy, and they will do whatever it takes. When they turn up to their first session, they'll tell me all the changes they've made already, and we hadn't even started! It's a delightfully inspiring phenomenon, and it's what keeps me going. Such a Whirlwind!

By Thursday panic was setting in...holy crap I don't have a job! What will I do for money? How will I pay my rent, how will I eat, will I qualify for EI, and yadda yadda yadda....but I went to the mall to get some US cash at the currency exchange, and found some fabulous new IIN red clothes for my weekend in New York City, and I felt better. Nothing like a good session of retail therapy eh? And then of course the panic creeps back in...should I have just spent all that money, bought those new clothes and 2 new pairs of shoes? Should I really go on this trip to New York...blah blah blah... Read More

Sorry it's Been so Long

So, after I was told that the Sjogren's is in remission, of course like any sane person would (hey, no comment from the Peanut Gallery!) I started to reintroduce foods. I started with egg yolk, no reaction for 4 days, so tried a full egg. No reaction for 4 days, so had some nice dark Giddy YoYo chocolate. No reaction for one full day, and then I had a lunch emergency. There was no protein in the house somehow that I could take to lunch, so I made my Big Ass Salad, and figured I could go to the Shopper's there near the office and get something to put in it. Well, for whatever reason their cans of tuna are 3 times the price that I usually pay at the grocery store, so I checked the Clearance shelf, and lo and behold, they had one tin of Flakes of Turkey for 50 cents. Bad idea. Within a couple of hours my mouth was feeling the now familiar pain and fire of salivary glands under attack. Read More
