Whew! Been Busy!

I have a few silver linings amongst the storm clouds; a few *very* awesome friends, as well as my own pit-bull like tenacity to never give in, keeping me going forward, when all I really want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep until the world goes away. Rip Van Winkle had the right idea I think! The best(worst?) I can do though is just binge watch on Netflix. I finished off Breaking Bad over the course of a couple of weeks, now I'm working on Sense8. Read More

Sjogren's Update

The important part is of course MY SJOGREN'S IS IN REMISSION! After only 4 months :) So, I have started to reintroduce foods, and I had an egg yolk yesterday at breakfast, mixed into my paleo porridge. So far, no reactions. I am going by Sarah Ballantyne's recommendations for reintroduction, mainly because she wrote the book, and she's done all the research and she's all smart and stuff. I may end up going a little all over the place though, because there are some things that I want to challenge before my weekend in New York City at the end of this month. Like wine. And chocolate. And whole eggs. And nuts. Wine and chocolate mostly ;) Read More

What Will 2015 Bring?

I had decided ahead of time that it would be a short fast day, because there really isn't any food there at the ACC that I can eat, and they do not allow you to bring in your own food or drink. Not even water, so I had to buy a 1/2 litre bottle of water for $5.50! Can you imagine? Utterly ridiculous prices! This is generally why I don't go out to sporting events, one, the ticket prices, two, the lack of affordable food and drink once I get there. But I won these tickets (good thing too, the price on them was $98 each!) and it was a great way to spend the day with my nephew. I'm happy that we went. Read More

End of the Year Wrap Up

If you're one who is thinking of learning something new, lose weight, and learn what it means to be healthy, and maybe make a career change, give the Institute for Integrative Nutrition a look. You'll learn 100 different dietary theories, learn how bio-individuality is so important to health, you'll even learn how to get your business started as a health coach. All in just one year. There are a lot of health coach programs out there, some of them are one weekend long, or even just a few hours. None are as comprehensive as IIN, or as well thought of within the healthcare field. Health Coaches are becoming a very important part of health care, many doctors offices are now employing full time health coaches. Articles lately have appeared in Men's Health Magazine, MedIll Reports-Midwestern U, and OptimizingHealth.org Read More
