Why Your Doctor Can't Tell You How Diet Affects Your Autoimmune Disease

So, you’ve been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and your doctor says you’re doomed to live with it, suck it up buttercup. What do you do? You click the “Contact” link up there in the right hand corner of the screen, you set up an appointment with me for a no charge one hour health consultation, and we will talk about what you need to get you through this maze of conflicting information, and how my programme can support you with that. Sjogren's Update

The important part is of course MY SJOGREN'S IS IN REMISSION! After only 4 months :) So, I have started to reintroduce foods, and I had an egg yolk yesterday at breakfast, mixed into my paleo porridge. So far, no reactions. I am going by Sarah Ballantyne's recommendations for reintroduction, mainly because she wrote the book, and she's done all the research and she's all smart and stuff. I may end up going a little all over the place though, because there are some things that I want to challenge before my weekend in New York City at the end of this month. Like wine. And chocolate. And whole eggs. And nuts. Wine and chocolate mostly ;) Read More

I Just Noticed Something!

I was sitting here at my desk listening in on a webinar, and I got an itch on my head. So I reached up to scratch it. And there were no lumps, or crusty flakes, or scales or anything! I even got up to check my entire head in the mirror! For the first time in my entire life (no kidding!) I Have No Psoriasis Anywhere On My Body! None! Can you even imagine that? I have had psoriasis since I was BORN! I am 47 years old, and I now have NO Psoriasis scales anywhere! Read More

Everything But the Kitchen Sink

My workshop was called "Feed Your Spirituality" (brochure download coming soon!) and it's about how eating natural whole foods can get you closer to the gods and kindred. I think it was well received, and the food I prepared was well enjoyed! Beef stew, veggies and guac dip, and some kale chips. mmmmm....I love kale chips! I went to see the Paddington movie with my Mum and my Paddington Bear (yes, 47 and I still take my toys to the movies with me) and a big bag of kale chips. I ate the whole bag myself. :) Read More

What Will 2015 Bring?

I had decided ahead of time that it would be a short fast day, because there really isn't any food there at the ACC that I can eat, and they do not allow you to bring in your own food or drink. Not even water, so I had to buy a 1/2 litre bottle of water for $5.50! Can you imagine? Utterly ridiculous prices! This is generally why I don't go out to sporting events, one, the ticket prices, two, the lack of affordable food and drink once I get there. But I won these tickets (good thing too, the price on them was $98 each!) and it was a great way to spend the day with my nephew. I'm happy that we went. Read More

Confessions of an Autoimmune Collector

About 3 or 4 years or so ago, I was having a heckuva time with extreme exhaustion, chronic vertigo, scatter brain (one step up [down?] from the usual autoimmune brain fog), systemic inflammation and pain, and just general overall bad health that the doctors could find no reason for at all. I lost my job because of it. Of course given that I already had 3 diagnosed autoimmune diseases I kept telling them it was probably another one. Or maybe even two or more! They ran tests, and they kept telling me results were "inconclusive". One rheumatologist said to "come back when you have more or worse symptoms" and a neurologist told me I probably need a psychiatrist, because he couldn't find anything wrong with me. Read More
